Look Good…Feel Better was founded in 1989 in the United States and is now operating in sixteen countries worldwide. The programme was launched in South Africa in 2004, and workshops are currently run in Gauteng and Cape Town. Plans are in place to extend the programme across South Africa.
The Look Good … Feel Better Foundation is operated as a Non Profit Association, run under the auspices of the CTFA. It is supported by CTFA members through annual subscriptions, donations of product and the expertise of their beauticians.
Look Good…Feel Better helps women undergoing active cancer treatment in a practical & positive way. Women Diagnosed with cancer are often faced with distressing side effects during treatment, some of which can change their appearance. Self Confidence and self-esteem can well be at an all time low.
Look Good…Feel Better provides free two hour workshops through a network of hospitals, oncology clinics and interim homes. Specially trained volunteer beauty professionals take small groups of patients through a 12 step skin care and make-up regime designed to combat the visible side-effects of their treatment.
